Cutting aid for Shoji paper
With this template, the glued Shoji paper can be cut to size very easily.
The knife is guided; prevents slipping.
The adhesive tape is required for attaching the foil-reinforced papers.
Our uncoated papers can be fixed with glue or adhesive tape. If Shoji glue is used, the paper can be easily removed for renewal by moistening the paper on the back in the gluing area. After moistening the starch paste dissolves and the old paper can be easily removed.
The offered glue is packed in a useful bottle (150 gr) which facilitates the application of the glue with the help of the guide nose.
It is a starch paste which in our case is made on the basis of manioc, but one can also use local wallpaper glue, but which then has to be administered by a paintbrush.
In my experience the 150 gr. are sufficient for about 2-3 Shoji of our usual outer dimensions and sash bars.
Working with glues e.g. wood glue is not advisable in any case, since this would take revenge at the latest, should one ever be challenged to have to make an exchange.
When using our offered transparent double-sided adhesive tape there are a few points to consider.
1. the surface must be free of dust and grease
2. the adhesive tape must be placed properly under pressure, later also the paper must be fixed under pressure.
